The operation‑depot, the key large‑scale workshop building within the parking‑lot, provides huge column‑free inner‑space for multiple metro‑trains. Its roof‑system integrates waterproofing, thermal‑insulation, wind‑resistance and maintenance‑access functions. Custom‑made exterior cornice‑decoration unifies functional enclosure and architectural appearance, promoting standardized and aesthetic construction of rail‑transit facilities.
This super‑long‑span workshop roof covers a large area. Major construction‑challenges include thermal‑deformation control for extra‑large roof, multi‑layer enclosure construction, waterproof‑treatment for pipeline openings, high‑altitude precise installation of cantilever cornice members and drainage‑structure fabrication of cornice drip‑edge. Characterized by abundant rainfall, high‑temperature‑humidity and frequent heavy‑rainstorms in Chengdu, the roof is designed in accordance with Grade‑I waterproof‑standard for rail‑transit buildings, equipped with complete vapor‑barrier, thermal‑insulation and drainage systems. Wind‑load calculation is specially carried out for cantilever cornices, and anti‑corrosion reinforcement is applied to anchoring‑connections to eliminate deformation‑shedding risks. Waterproof‑strengthening treatment is implemented around numerous ventilation, maintenance and electrical‑equipment bases on roof, effectively reducing leakage risks and guaranteeing long‑term safe‑operation of the train‑depot.
We undertook integrated installation works of the full roof‑enclosure‑system and exterior cornice‑decoration, covering fabrication and installation of roof steel‑purline system, laying of vapor‑barrier, thermal‑insulation and waterproof membranes, hoisting‑mounting of roof panels, waterproof‑reinforcement for ridge, gutter, drain‑outlet and equipment‑bases, fabrication‑erection of cantilever cornice steel‑frame, cutting and fixing of exterior decorative panels, sealing of cornice flashing and drip‑edge construction. Strict quality‑control was implemented for thermal‑expansion‑gap layout of long‑span roof panels, mounting‑precision of high‑altitude cornice components, welding anti‑corrosion quality and detailed waterproof joints.
