GNPower Kauswagan 4×135 MW coal‑fired power station is a landmark overseas power‑generation project under the Belt‑and‑Road Initiative, built by Chinese enterprises to improve power supply on Mindanao Island, Philippines. Located along Iligan Bay in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, the plant greatly eases long‑lasting power shortage across southern Mindanao and provides stable energy support for local industry and residents.

Our scope covers steel‑structure works of main power‑house, turbine hall, coal‑bunker bay and auxiliary buildings, with total steel‑structure construction area of 70,000 ㎡ and maximum height of 48 m for the main workshop. High‑rise heavy‑duty steel‑frame system is applied to bear ultra‑heavy‑load process‑equipment including boilers, waste‑heat‑recovery systems and turbo‑generator sets. Situated in tropical coastal zone with year‑round high temperature, heavy rainfall and severe salt‑fog corrosion, the project must also comply with local Philippine seismic‑design codes. Customized optimization is carried out for steel‑member material selection, multi‑layer anti‑corrosion coating system and seismic‑resistant joint details.

We undertook full steel‑structure works including detailed design, prefabrication, shot‑blasting anti‑corrosion coating and on‑site hoisting & installation for steel frames, crane beams, bracings and purlin systems. Adopting dual‑standard quality control between China and Philippines, we guaranteed fabrication precision and high‑altitude welding quality, successfully delivering this large‑scale overseas thermal‑power‑plant project and demonstrating comprehensive engineering strength of Chinese steel‑structure contractors.
