As a key people‑livelihood infrastructure of Luoning County, the sports‑center stands beside Yongning‑Lake Park at the intersection of Changhong Road and North‑Binhe Road. Covering land area of 86,774 ㎡, the complex consists of stadium, gymnasium and natatorium. Inspired by “Sun‑and‑Moon‑Brilliance”, it is Luoning’s first large‑scale comprehensive sports landmark, capable of hosting regional competitions, large‑scale performances and public‑fitness activities.

The roof adopts a hybrid steel‑structure system combining large‑span special‑shaped double‑curved spatial pipe‑truss and welded‑ball space‑grid. Stream‑lined roof shape brings great construction challenges, including massive cross‑insert‑plate joints, high‑precision fabrication for pipe‑intersections, curved‑surface segmental assembly and deformation‑control during high‑altitude closure. Considering snow‑load in winter and severe thunder‑storm weather in summer of western‑Henan mountainous‑area, complete anti‑corrosion and fire‑protection scheme was customized for truss members and supports.

We undertook spatial pipe‑truss roof steel‑structure works, covering detailed design of double‑curved truss, steel‑pipe prefabrication, shot‑blasting anti‑corrosion coating, segmented hoisting, high‑altitude assembly and closure construction. Strict quality‑control was carried out for intersecting‑joint precision and high‑altitude welding inspection. Overcoming construction difficulties of special‑shaped curved‑surface steel‑structure, we delivered high‑quality roof works and built a brand‑new cultural‑sports landmark for Luoning.
