As a leading petrochemical industrial park in South China, Guangzhou Petrochemical Integration Base undertakes core‑production tasks including crude‑oil refining, finished‑oil production and deep‑processing of chemical raw‑materials, delivering stable energy support for industrial development of Guangdong‑Hong‑Kong‑Macao Greater‑Bay‑Area. As a key environmental‑protection upgrading project, this membrane‑structure construction implements sealed capping for open‑air aeration tanks, sedimentation tanks and regulating tanks inside the plant sewage‑treatment system. An integrated enclosure‑shelter system of pipe‑truss support and anti‑hanging corrosion‑resistant membrane is adopted to collect corrosive waste‑gas generated in refining production, realizing clean‑production and emission‑reduction and improving the eco‑friendly infrastructure of the petrochemical zone.
Located in the coastal industrial zone of Guangzhou, the site features year‑round high temperature and humidity, intensive ultraviolet radiation, frequent typhoons and heavy rainfall in summer. The sewage tanks contain highly‑corrosive industrial waste‑gas with sulphur and oil contaminants. The proven anti‑hanging‑membrane process is applied: the spatial pipe‑truss frame is arranged outside while the corrosion‑proof membrane is suspended beneath the truss and exposed to waste‑gas, which effectively protects the steel frame from corrosive fume. Hot‑dip‑galvanization plus multi‑layer anti‑corrosion coating is adopted for steel‑truss members. Special industrial‑grade membrane with excellent acid‑alkali‑resistance, anti‑aging property and air‑tightness is selected. Construction challenges including curved‑surface forming of large‑span irregular tanks, drainage‑slope control, joint sealing and typhoon‑resistant stability are fully solved to guarantee long‑term safe operation.
We undertook the integrated construction of pipe‑truss frame and anti‑hanging membrane‑structure, covering detailed design of large‑span spatial pipe‑truss, prefabrication of steel‑pipe components, shot‑blasting anti‑corrosion coating, segmented hoisting & assembly of steel trusses, membrane cutting and hot‑welding, prestress tension forming, waste‑gas‑collecting interface installation and joint sealing. Strict quality‑control was carried out for steel‑structure precision, high‑altitude‑welding NDT inspection and membrane tension stress. The curved drainage profile was accurately formed, and the tank‑enclosure shelter was completed with high standards. We delivered a reliable integrated steel‑membrane environmental‑solution for waste‑gas treatment of large‑scale petrochemical base.
